comic strip
I was just cleaning off my refrigerator which was cluttered with random photographs and I found this cute little comic strip that my mother-in-law sent me. It makes me smile. :)

We've always talked about getting a buddy for Dolce with all the long hours we work and she stays home alone. She has a doggy door to get out whenever she pleases and has quite the yard and home to roam BUT you should see her face and those big eyes when you come home from a long day shooting a wedding and she looks at you so pathetic like, "are you REALLY just going to go to bed now after leaving my here by myself all day!". Now she has another little body to keep her company and boy is he cute when he snuggles up to her and starts snoring on her belly. Little stinker. We're having so much fun with the new addition to the family! Although, poor Dolce isn't the "only child" anymore so she does get a little jealous. LOOK AT THIS FACE THOUGH!

He's growing so fast, this last one of him was only taken ten days after the one of him at top in the little red bed. I think he is going to be a lot bigger than Dolce (well like a whole 2 or 3 lbs at least).

Beautiful day, great couple and amazing lighting to work with!
However, on a side note...there have been times in my career and experience as a photographer when I may do something a little clumsy and I can't fully regret it because it is life, I am not perfect and I have to learn from my mistakes. It's not that horrible, it's just that during our wonderful shoot I lost my keys somewhere somehow on the beach or in the weeds. I guess I was just in the moment and having too much fun but seeing that we were about 35 minutes from where I live and 40 minutes from where the couple lives in the other direction it was a little embarrassing to ask them to give me a ride into town so I could get a spare key and have Ben drive me back out late last night.
Marissa and Kelly were so sweet and didn't seem to mind so we took advantage of the ride into town to share more embarrassing stories and it gave me a great opportunity to get to know them even more. Needless to say they are definitely getting a complimentary custom print to hang on the walls for being so sweet and understanding. oops! c'est la vie!

Ben and I snuck up to see the wildflowers again this year. We got there a little late in the evening as the sun was already over the hill but I love how these first few shots turned out with my trusty rollei camera I love so much. It's fun to head up there each year and try to get something different than I did last year. It is so inspiring to shoot for my own personal collection. It keeps me excited about what I do and it also teaches me new things when I can slow down and shoot for fun. There's no pressure to be perfect...just a chance to have more fun photos to put on our walls here at home.

Little Madison is such a cutie pie. Her mom Carla is a coordinator in Santa Ynez and so Mady's little party was done with style! How fun...

This was by far one of the most fun engagement shoots I have ever been honored to shoot. Christina & Cole were such sports and the weather was much more windy and chilly than it looks. I was so excited when they agreed to do this different and unique location I had been wanting to try out for some time. It turned out even more cool than I had expected. It might also have something to do with how incredible they were together as a couple and willing to have fun in the freezing weather!
